VSI Series Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher

Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher (VSI Crusher) is an advanced and energy-efficient crushing machine that utilizes centrifugal force and high-speed impact to break down materials. During operation, materials are fed into a high-speed rotor, which accelerates them and projects them outward at high velocity. The particles then collide with a surrounding rock bed (rock-on-rock) or impact plates (rock-on-steel), leading to multiple stages of fragmentation and shaping. VSI crushers are widely used for the final stage of crushing in the production of high-quality manufactured sand and well-graded aggregates, especially for hard and abrasive materials like granite, basalt, and quartz. Working Principle

The vertical shaft impact crusher (VSI) operates on the principle of high-speed rotor acceleration and material self-impact. During operation, materials are fed into the center of the rotating rotor. The rotor, spinning at high speed, flings the materials outward through centrifugal force toward the crushing chamber. Once ejected, the materials collide either with a surrounding rock lining (rock-on-rock) or impact plates (rock-on-steel), depending on the crusher configuration. These high-velocity impacts cause the materials to fracture and break into smaller, well-shaped particles. This repeated process of acceleration, impact, and rebound produces high-quality, cubical aggregates and manufactured sand. The final particle size can be controlled by adjusting the rotor speed and the type or layout of the impact surface. VSI crushers are widely used for fine crushing and shaping in industries such as construction, mining, and sand making.
